Pupil Premium
In 2011-12 the Government launched its Pupil Premium funding initiative. This money is sent to schools based on the numbers of pupils in the school who are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM). This government fund has been established to address inequalities for children in receipt of free school meals or in the looked after care system; narrowing the attainment gap for disadvantaged children. In addition to this the school receives funding for children whose parents are serving in the armed forces, to support their emotional and social well-being.
From 2012-13, it has been expanded to include all children who have been eligible for FSM within the last 6 years.
This money is allocated for use at the school's discretion to support initiatives to ensure pupils reach their full potential, both academically and socially.
